Windshield Repair – A Less Expensive Green Option
Windshield repair is a good option for customers looking to restore the strength of their windshield quickly and within budget. Repairs are Low Risky and Easy
Our Windshield Repairs take about 30 – 45 minutes to complete. But we strongly recommend you to make appointments earlier to guarantee quick service. Many insurance carriers provide windshield repair services with no deductible charge – FREE to the Policyholder – to encourage a timely repair of minor breaks so that the minor cracks don’t get more extensive and your entire windshield will not need to be replaced. How it's Done?
When we are working on a windshield repair, our expert professional technicians drill through the outer layer of your windshield’s glass and inject a ‘glass-like’ resin into it. The resin is then treated under UV light. This process strengthens the windshield’s crack and keeps it from spreading any further across the windshield. Keep in mind that the repairs will still be visible after a successful repair – clean breaks and minor marks allow for a decreased visibility after the repair. However, you will still see a ‘scar’ on the repair place. Glass cannot be ultimately ‘healed’ or treated, but a good repair allows for a valuable service of your windshield even after a break.
What Can Be Repaired?
As mentioned above, glass breaks are NOT REPAIRABLE unless the break is larger than the size of a half-dollar coin (approx. 1″ radius) or within the driver’s direct vision – an imaginary 8 ½ X 11 sheet of paper in front of the driver. But repairs larger than the before mentioned size have a very low success rate and high warranty call-back rate. Some national chains often repair significant breaks on the glass as a sales lead for future windshield glass replacement. But Smart Glass Inc would rather have a satisfied customer than an unsatisfied one.
Small chips and breaks like these are repairable.
Note that the lifetime warranty does not apply to successful state inspection of the vehicle or perceived clarity by the customer. Also, note that there is always a risk of the glass breaking further during the repairing process. So, if you are unsure about either of them, then it is always best to check with Smart Glass Inc or your inspection station before the appointment to confirm whether a windshield repair will pass the state inspection requirements.
